The Mushroom Group is Australia’s largest independent entertainment group. A household name in Australia, Mushroom Group employs over 200 people throughout Australia and New Zealand. Founded by Music Industry icon Michael Gudinski in 1972 and encompassing over 15 companies, the group continues to grow despite industry trends.
The ChallengeThe Mushroom Group management team was growing increasingly frustrated and unhappy with the operational standards of its internal IT Department. Unexplained downtime meant IT services could be unavailable for hours, if not days, at a time. This inevitably lead to unproductive employees and more importantly; inefficiencies within the organisation.
alltasksIT implemented a managed IT services solution which involved providing a full monitoring and support service across Australia and New Zealand for the data centre component of Mushroom Group’s IT infrastructure. This solution saw Mushroom Group retain its important front line IT staff whilst bringing with it a far broader range of expertise and knowledge than what was previously in place.
The ability to proactively monitor the entire network meant potential problems could now be dealt with before business productivity suffered.
The Mushroom Group is a more relaxed work environment, IT wise, with alltasksIT increasing network uptime to nearly 99.9% in just over 3 months – a vast improvement on this period prior.
alltasksIT managed services solution was also able to detect pain points of which management were unaware, such as the need for a disaster recovery strategy. The group’s IT services were extremely vulnerable to both failure and data loss. alltasksIT now acts as the Mushroom Group’s virtual IT manager and department, adding a flexible approach to this position that was previously not considered possible.
