HP recently launched the Pro x2 612, a detachable two in- one notebook for business users. The notebook is HP’s first detachable PC built for business users. For users looking for a more mobile keyboard, HP also provides a Travel Keyboard option. The Travel Keyboard is backlit, features a USB 3.0 port, an audio jack, and kickstand functionality. HP aims to compete directly with the newly unveiled Microsoft Surface 3.
One other benefit compared to other 2 in 1 devices is that there is a proper HP docking station option available.
The device features a 12.5-inch diagonal display, Intel Core i3/i5 processors including a vPro option, Smart Card Reader, and an optional fingerprint reader. The Pro x2 612 comes with a built-in Wacom digitizer stylus. The stylus sits in a slot on the tablet itself, on the lower edge.
Compared to Microsoft’s recently released Surface Pro 3 that lacks a number of key features, the X2 612 includes a smartcard reader, Ethernet port, fingerprint reader, and 4G/LTE support.
The HP Pro x2 612, which will become available in September, features a 12.5 inch display and 14 hours of battery life, it runs on Windows 8.1 OS (also Windows 7 compatible) and comes with the option of Intel Core i3 or i5 processors.
In addition the Pro x2 612 comes with a powered keyboard that, when used in conjunction with the tablet, provides 14 hours of battery life. Pricing has yet to be determined.
